New Pavement Installation Plus Removal of an Existing Driveway
If you already have a paved driveway that you need to have removed before laying down a new one, you can expect to pay approximately $3.80 per square foot. This service includes removal of any existing driveway 9 inches below the fi
nished grade, and then additionally placing 6 inches of 1 ¼ process on that as part of the paving prices.After the base has been removed and replaced, fine grading will be performed and the new pavement installed as noted above.
Stone and Oil Paving Installation
Stone and oil can be installed over any existing driveway and is a low cost solution to getting a driveway or road paved. This type of paving is about half the price of getting new asphalt installed.
After liquid asphalt has been applied to the existing paved driveway, a coat of stone that is 3/8 inches thick will be put on top of the liquid asphalt and then machine compacted. The estimated paving prices for this type of service are $1.05 per square foot.
You will be able to choose the color of stone you would like applied on top of the liquid asphalt. Stone colors will vary depending on what the paving company you use provides. The most common used colors are earth tones and grays.
Paving companies and services will usually come out and take a look at the property that needs to be paved and give an accurate estimate free of charge. You’ll want to find a couple local paving companies and then give them a call to come out and give you an estimate to get exact paving pric
es for your job.After you’ve received two or three estimates, compare the paving prices, keeping in mind any extra charges that may be added in to the final amount. You might also want to do a quick search on the Internet for any reviews done by previous customers of the individual companies. One such place that you can check is called Angie’s List.
This way you will be able to see what kind of service and work that they have done in the past. If you cannot find anything online and you really want to investigate their history, you could ask the paving companies for customer references and then give each reference a call and ask yourself.
The paving companies may also have photographs of previous work that they have done which you could take a look at when getting paving prices.
